Bethel Township Bears Brunt of Tues. Storm

A major storm whipped through Sullivan County on Tuesday night, bringing down trees and snapping power lines. The hardest hit area appears to be Bethel Township, from Kauneonga Lake down through Smallwood and into Chapin Estate. There aren't a lot of reports of property damage, but a large number of homes are without power. NYSEG is working hard to get power restored. If you have a vacation home in that area, and are planning to come up this weekend, you may want to check with a neighbor or with NYSEG to see whether your home is affected.
