Remember NYRI, the New York Regional Interconnect powerline project slated to run through western Sullivan County? Amidst all the hubbub over the past 6 or 7 months about gas drilling, attention to NYRI has gotten kind of lost. But the project is not dead.
The New York Public Service Commission is holdings its final set of hearings in the affected counties at the end of October. Two hearings are scheduled in Sullivan County, both on Wed. Oct. 29th. The afternoon session will begin at 1PM at the Delaware Community Center in Callicoon. The evening session will begin at 6PM at the Sullivan West High School. There will be a one hour information forum on the status of the project and the approval process, followed by a public statement hearing.
