I was over at Toronto Reservoir yesterday, and shot this from the public boat launch at the end of Moscoe Road. As you can see, there's water in the lake. I know, there's supposed to be water in lakes. But if you remember back to the summer of 2009, Toronto was a sad lake with very little water. The docks of the pricey homes at the Chapin Estate were laying on the lake bottom like beached whales. (See my July 2009 blog post with photos.)
The situation is much different this summer. There's plenty of water in the lake, the docks are floating, not beached, and boaters are enjoying the lake.
Unfortunately I haven't heard there's been any agreement by the reservoir's current owner, Alliance Energy, or the upcoming owner, Eagle Creek Hydro, to maintain the reservoirs at a minimum level for boating during the summer season. But hopefully that will be coming so the uncertainty over the water levels in the reservoirs during the summer will be a thing of the past.
