Cleanwaternotdirtydrilling.org has produced this short (67 sec.) video, "I Love My NY Water", featuring actors Ethan Hawke, Nadia Dajani, Zoe Saldana, Josh Charles and Mark Ruffalo. (Mark and Nadia are both Sullivanites.) I love this. If you do, too, please pass it along.
OK, one more time people...
There is no evidence anywhere at any time that gas drilling does anything to pollute water. To imply that drilling would have any effect on NY water, or that drilling companies would ever proceed with a process that would is simply alarmist and naive. One has nothing to do with the other.
The inaccurate Northeast media has gotten this idea in their heads and is willing to sacrifice the welfare of the state by perpetuating myths and emotional scare tactics.
I don't know how this ever snowballed to include even seemingly smart people. Geez. Now I need a glass of frack water, on the rocks, with a twist of radioactivity, please.

A Sullivan County raison d'etre is to supply crystal clear drinking water to major Northeastern US cities. Those cities won't allow any industry to even remotely threaten the quality of their drinking water. Lots of good water is one thing the Northeast still has (unlike many other areas of the country). There may still be some residual resentment from NYC flooding those valleys for their watershed but NYC has subsequently been a big part of the Catskill's salvation. If not for "the city" those drilling rigs would likely already be going up.
Oh, and Mark Ruffalo ROCKS ASS!!!

David, care to comment in the opening of Mohegan Sun Casino & Resort at the old Concord site in Thompson around March 2013? All the articles on this topic make it sound like a done deal.

What part does Tom Shepstone play in the video? I couldn't find him and replayed it five times. Somebody mentioned he was in it!
