Sullivan County finally has it's own contemporary boutique-style hotel. The former Lodge at Rock Hill has been transformed into The Sullivan, (www.the-sullivan.com), a slick and chic full service hotel with two adjacent restaurants, Bernie's (Asian-American steakhouse) and The Crust (Italian fare and pizza).
The shuttered Lodge at Rock Hill was purchased earlier this year by Butch Resnick, and underwent a six week remodel, reopening earlier this summer. The wesbite is still a little thin on photos and info — there are no room photos yet, and no FAQ section with info like pet policies. But all in good time.
Midweek summer rates start at about $135, and weekend rates at about $150. Anyone stayed there yet or had friends who've stayed there? I'd love to hear some thoughts on what it's like.

I just stayed there this past Saturday evening. The place has great potential - brand new, crisp and clean, designed reasonably well, and pleasant. Nice responsive staff, too. But, right now it still has the feel of an upgraded motel, because there are virtually no amenities, other than restaurants next door, and a Hampton Inn style continental breakfast. No pool, no workout room. But it was a pleasure to sleep on great linens and nice mattresses. You get the feeling it will be nice, but right now at $200 (including taxes), I felt duped. It is not a resort - it served the purpose of a motel room. My understanding is that there will be a pool and spa, which would make me a lot more comfortable with the price.
